K writes the following about Speak :

- My class was assigned this novel. All of my friends loved it. They said how it was so much better than other books we've had to read for school. Personally I found the book kind of dull. There isnt a big climax to it and i found the storyline a little over-dramatic. I like to read, but only books that are exciting from cover to cover. Honestly, SPEAK was'nt as good a book as I expected and I was dissapointed that it didnt reach it's potential. Laurie Halse Anderson could have made this book excellent. But it just was'nt my style. -K.
