Ashley writes the following about A Series of Unfortunate Events :
It?s difficult when what stands between you and your siblings? only hope of survival is a terrible villain, his stylish girlfriend, your former bratty classmate, and a cave full of poisonous mushrooms. In the eleventh installment of Lemony Snicket?s A Series of Unfortunate Events, the Baudelaire orphans: Violet, Klaus and Sunny find themselves in deep (literally) as they join a submarine crew aboard the Queequeg on their mission to retrieve the Sugar Bowl before Count Olaf can.
In The Grim Grotto, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny find themselves escaping the clutches of their evil former guardian Count Olaf yet again. This time the Baudelaires join ?Captain Widdershins and his crew of two? aboard the Queequeg and help out with their mission to retrieve the sugar bowl. Unfortunately, Count Olaf isn?t far behind and the Baudelaires must find away to outwit the villain with Violets amazing skills as an inventor, Klaus?s knowledge gained from reading, and Sunny?s cooking skill and sharp teeth. As you read this book you will want to soak up every awful detail as you follow the Baudelaires back to the place where you first met them: Briny Beach.
When I first started reading this book I couldn?t put it down and actually finished it in a day! This is a great book and a real page-turner because the author made a serious subject into something enjoyable by occasionally adding in humor. I recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense and mysteries. I also recommend this book to ages 9 and older because even though the book uses some complicated words it also includes an explanation of the word and I found myself learning and didn?t even know it! I also suggest that you read the previous 10 books so they could have a wider idea of what is happening in the story
