Symone writes the following about The Awakening :

I love this book! It doesn't only tell the readers, which keep in mind this was written in the 1900's before women were even able to vote so the readers of this book have a completely different view of what women are seen today, it tells the readers that women can be more than a housewife and that men had such power over women then they ever should have.
