Jordan writes the following about Holes [UNABRIDGED] :
Stanley Yelnats is sent to a detention center called Camp Green Lake for a time he didn?t commit. Now he digs holes everyday to build character. He soon finds friends and thinks everything is going to be all right, but when he finds a gold tube and tells the Warden. He lies about where he found it so now they must dig more holes for a longer time. When his friend Zero crakes and runs into the desert he must find him. When Zero and Stanley find refuge on Gods Thumb they camp out for 2 weeks. When they head back to Camp Green Lake they dig where Stanley found the gold tube and find a treasure chest full of gold. Stanley and Zero leave and live happily ever after.

Two reasons why I loved this book were that it was a very good mystery story. Every chapter left you wanting more. Another reason why I loved the book was that it was quite funny and that it was a little scary. Two things I didn?t like were that it was skipping around the timeline. It went from one time to another to another. Also the ending was cheap. They find the gold and live happily ever after. So what.
