Brian the main character in the book Hatchet was stranded in the Canadian wilderness because the pilot had a heart attack. Brian had to fly the plane all by himself. Brian knew very little about planes or anything that had to do with them. The only things that he knew were from any movies he had watched or books that he had read. Brian had to survive with little to eat which was Fish and some very sour berries. Brian also had to try not to be afraid of some of the wild animals that you can find in the wilderness. Strongly Brian survived.

I liked this book a lot because there was a little bit of mystery in it such as if someone was going to find Brian or if he was going to be stranded in the wilderness forever. Brian was ready to give up on trying to get out of the Canadian wilderness a couple of times because he just figured that no one would ever come to find him so why should he be scared of bears because he thought he was going to die. That?s what made me so happy because I knew that he was going to be strong and not just give up. I also liked that Brian was found and didn?t end up staying in the wilderness.

I disliked this book because it seemed like Brian was going to be stuck in the Canadian wilderness for longer than I thought. I also didn?t like it because it was kind of scary when he saw a bear and you thought that he was going to die. I also didn?t like the book because there wasn?t a very good ending Brian was found and In the epilogue it only said who found him and not what his parents said when they finally had him back. There was some pretty boring parts in the book all together.
