Pulina writes the following about Hatchet :
In then story of Hatchet, Brian is going to his father?s house for the summer because his parents got a divorce. He lives with his mom during the school year and his dad during the summer. When Brian?s mom was driving him to the airport so Brian could go to his dad?s house she gave him a hatchet. When they finally got to the airport Brian went on a small plane with him and only a pilot. An hour later Brian and the pilot were in the air when suddenly the pilot had a heart attack. Brian pushed the pilot aside and tried to land the plane. He landed the plane safely in the lake. When he got out of the plane he started making a shelter for himself and finding food. Days went by and Brian just got skinner by the minute. One day Brian thought of going into the plane and finding the sage pack were all sorts of is in there. The next day Brian went out to the plane to get the safe pack. When he finally got it, it had all sorts of food and fishing gear in it. It also had a little radio in it. Brian turned it on and just left it there. An hour later a plane landed in front of him. He was so shocked. The pilot took Brian home and he was so happy.

In the book Hatchet, there were some things I liked and disliked. What I liked was that it told everything that was happening in the scene. It also told you a lot about the characters. What I disliked was that in some parts in the book it was confusing. I also didn?t like how the story ended. It didn?t say anything about what happened to Brian after he got saved from the pilot.
