AliBABA writes the following about The Witches (Puffin Novels) :
"The witches" is a magical twist of fantasy and humor. It is a great book because of its fast-paced action of how the main character, a 7 year old boy has to escape from the grand high witch from bieng turned into something...HORRIBLE!! For instance, when grandma was telling the story to him about witches she told stories about little girls & boys turned into dolphins, a painting, and to stone. The way you can tell that the person is a witch is first, they are female. Second, they are bald and wear wigs so you can notice them itching their head. Third, they always wear gloves because they have long nails that cant be cut. Finally, their spit is a blue tinge like agter you eat a blueberry flavored lollypop. Every year the witches hold 1 meeting.
When Grandma and Will go to England for vacation they see a million women with gloves and wigs. If i rate this book from 1 to 10 Igive it a 10 because of its great detail, and bone chilling suspense.
This book reminds me of the suspense but happiness as the book "Tangerine." Edward Galore , the author of tangerine reminds me of Roald Dahl. They're both on the same parallel aths. When you read this book you have a lot of questions to ask, For example , who is going to win, a powerful Grand witch, or a 7 year old boy? Also what is the deal with Grandmas missing finger?
