Sarah writes the following about The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants :
Picture your favorite pair of pants. They fall perfectly over your body- just how you want them to be. Your friend asks to borrow them. What? Are they crazy? Your pants would NEVER fit your friend! After all, your friend has a more athletic build than you do. And now two more of your friends need to borrow those same pants! One is too skinny and the other too tall. They beg and plead you to let them borrow those pants or at least try them on to see. You finally give. One friend tries them on, then the next, and the next. Miraculously, they fit everyone. Magic, right?
That's what Carmen, Bridget, Tibby, and Lena thought when they tried on ?The Traveling Pants.? It was going to be their first summer apart, and they didn't know how to be together while being so far away from one another. They finally found their answer in the pants and promised to send them back and forth to keep each other's spirit with them.
But pants are only pants, right? Not these. These pans bring something special? something wonderful. They bring courage. These four diverse girls would never had done some of the things they did without having had the pants. They never would have played quite so well, never apologized for being a jealous brat, never have gone to a friend's when she was sick, and never have allowed themselves to love.
Just how did these obstacles come up? Well, that's for me to know and for you to find out by reading this awesome book, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
