I think the whole series of Artemis Fowl is the series in all of the series I have read- in fact, any book by Eoin Colfer is great. Artemis is a 12-year-old boy who is a pure genius, and thinks Einstein is OK. He learns that there are fairies underground and makes one of them give up their Book, or Bible. He takes Holly Short, and elf, and my favorite character, as a hostage in order to get gold to search for his lost father. The characters are:
1.Artemis
2.Holly
3.Butler (Artemis's bodyguard)
4.Commander Root
5.Foaly
And many more , including a dwarf named Mulch (also one of my fav. characters.)
This book is better then Eragon or Harry Potter!
