ChiChi writes the following about Catherine, Called Birdy :
Catherine ia a stubbern teenager. She doesn't like to do lady work. Lady work is when you have to walk really well. You also have to cook, and do all of the work. Catherine is promised to marry a pig, "Shaggy Beard." She doesn't like him because he belches and passes gas out loud. She gets mad at her dad. She calls him "The Beast."
I don't like the book because I lon't like the oldin times. The book is in the history. I don't like history because it is a little boring. It can be really fun though, but my favorite history is talking about the Indian and Mexicains. This book is cool because it has Catherine that yells at her dad and is a little snotty. Usually they have books that has a princess or someone that is rich and have them be so nice and stuff. But Catherine is a girl that doesn't like to be like that. Catherine doesn't do a lot of things that she is told, like having to pick up her dress and walk very well. She has to walk very pretty, not show her teeth, and has to be very quiet.
I would recoment this book to others becauseit is good. I loved it. This isn't a book that most people reat all of the time. Catherine is a girl that gets mad a lot and does stunts, and she yells a lot.
