Jarred Parton 2 writes the following about The Watsons Go to Birmingham--1963 (Newbery Honor Book, 1996, No 2) :
The Watson?s go to Birmingham is a good Black History book because it has actions in this book that happened in the real world and it is a book that catches the readers eye and it makes you want to keep reading and reading.I gave this book 9.9 because I did not like how the ending was and how Byron actied when him and his grandma was talking. I recamend this book to readers who can handle laughing and crying in the same chapter and ages 11 and up.
