steven phair writes the following about The Watsons Go to Birmingham--1963 (Newbery Honor Book, 1996, No 2) :
The Watsons go to Birmingham 1963. That was one of the most interesting. funny and educational book that i have ever read before. Believe me i dont read books and pay attention to books, but i can see a good book when there is one. I think all 7th graders should read the book. The book has some mild language, but it still is a great book. The book kept making me guessing every single page that i read. The author who wrote this stoy has to be a good writer to make a good book like that.
