alan writes the following about The Watsons Go to Birmingham--1963 (Newbery Honor Book, 1996, No 2) :
I liked this book because it teaches kids and grown adalts about different races. it had funny parts in it like how byron almost got his finger burned by his mom. I thought it was sad when the church got bombed. I think i is realistic because I could see the charcters in my mind. I think that they should make a movie about the book because they would make alot of money and it would be a good movie.
