nguuyekev003 writes the following about Silverwing :
Nguyen, Kevin 01/28/05 Book Review This book Silver Wing by Kenneth Oppel is all about adventure and a little bat who was called a runt mainly at the beginning of the story, but then he becomes a legend at the end. This book is all fiction and adventure. The characters are two bats, one bat that is a bright wing bat named Marina. She was banned, because she has a band on her forearm Shade is a little newborn bat from the silver wing bat that gets lost while traveling south. This adventure starts at Tree Haven, a big tree in the forest, then moves to a place in the south called Hibernaculum but in the middle of the way to the south a storm hits and he gets lost then he tries to find his way back. This book mainly is about believing in yourself and not believing in what other people think about you. I would give this a rating of 9 out of 10 because of the information he puts in it like when Shade and Marina think there is a white cliff in the mountains, but it is really the top of the house. I think that this book should have more information about other parts of the book like how Shade?s father looks. I really think this book has good information about the cathedral, the mountains, and the lighthouse. I can stand there and hear the bell ringing in the cathedral, feel the cold win from the mountain, and see the light from the lighthouse, spinning in circles. I can also see the structures from I my eyes that Shade went to, like the house in the mountains.
