Paul Fisher and his family move to Tangerine, Florida from Texas. Paul?s parents thought that Tangerine would be a great place to live?..so they thought. Just about the only thing nice about it is the house itself. Paul?s mother makes an IEP form at Paul?s new school because he has an eyesight problem. He was told that his eyesight weakened because he stared at an eclipse too long. Paul doesn?t believe that. Paul has flashbacks of what happened when he was little. Now Paul is trying to put all of the pieces together. When he does, you will be shocked to find out what happened!
The characters in this story are very unique. They are not like your average kids or people you see in the neighborhood. Some of these people are killers and some are thieves. Paul is the main character who is a nice boy just trying to find out the truth about his eyes while his brother tries to make his life miserable.
The setting of the story is in many different places. The first part of the story takes place in Texas and then they move to Tangerine, Florida. In Florida, the story takes place at the Fisher?s home, Lake Windsor Middle School, Tangerine Middle School, and Luis? house.
We would give this novel a 9.0 because it was a good book. It was very descriptive. The author gave a lot of details and made his passions and feelings come alive. It is a great example of life because you should always stick with your friends. Some ways to make the book better, would be to add some illustrations to help create better visuals in our minds. Also, the beginning could be a little more interesting and the ending could have a little more information.
