Janet Trujillo writes the following about The Great Gilly Hopkins :
The Great Gilly Hopkins is a really nice book because it talks and ex plains how foster children may be nice, mean or just shy and sad because theire not with their real parents. Gilly Hopkins is a foster girl that had live with alot of foster parents but none of the parents like her because Gilly does not behaves herself. This story in my opinion is like Cinderella because Cinderella wants to go to the dance and Gilly wants to go with her real mom. that is why Gilly does not behaves herself.
I will rate this book on a 8. I will rate this book an a 8 because you learn how foster childs may be. I will also rate this book on a 8 because is funny but In my opinion I prefer scary stories. I also rated this book in a 8 because you learn what foster Parents are really like, and what a foster children would do to get with their real parents. Like Gilly. I will definetly recommend this book only to children from 8 and up. I will recommend this book from ages 8 and up because theirs some swearing in the book but I think is okay.
I would not really change nothing to improve the book because I think it was nice and excited that finally Gilly met her real mother and finally went home with her real Grandmother and her real mother.
