The book "The Great Gilly Hopkins" is about a foster child that moves from place to place because nobody could take care of her.Then when she moves with the Trotters she makes no room for love because she thinks that her mother Courtney will come for her. Well gilly girl you are wrong!Then it was the thanksgiving week Ms.Trotter,W.E, And Mr. Randolph( there blind neighboor)were sick they had the flu. Then Gilly's Grand mother comes to visit her. Then Ms.Ellis went to the trotters house after Gilly and W.E came back from school.Then Ms.Ellis tells Ms.Trotter and Gilly that her grand mother wants to rake Gilly for ever. Then Mrs.hopkins picks Gilly up.Then when they get there Gilly gets to choose her own bedroom. She picks her uncles room.(Courtney's brother).Then weeks later she found out that Courtney was coming! When she got there Gilly did not excpect her mother to be that like that.She only came because Gillys grandmother was paying her to come. Then Gilly realized that she loves the Trotter's and Mr.Randolph.Then she regrets ever wanting Courtney back.I will rate this book 9.5 because it was intresting. And Because Gilly did crazy things to see her mother.But then she did not want Courtney anymore because she was mean.I would recommend 7-11 year old kids read this book because it was a great book and they will problably get to understand the theme of this book.I would change the ending. It will finish like this. Gilly goes heichhicking after school to go with the Trotter but when she gets there Ms.Ellis arrived. And she takes Gilly to the office. then Ms.Ellis gets some documents and tells Ms.Trotter to read it and sign it. Then Gilly becomes Ms.Trotters daughter.
