In book, Sammy Keyes and The Curse of Moustache Mary, Wendelin Van Draanen effectively tells a well-plotted mystery novel. My overall opinion of this novel is that it has many good points, yet has some elements that don't interest me. My first strength of this mystery would be the plot it's self. I think this element is effective because the plot is very riveting. It contains ups and downs, which creates drama in the story. The plot also contains a very climatic period with a fictional central conflict. One thing i dont approve of in this book would be the setting. The setting never got actually set. It seem that the setting varied every chapter! Third,-my last strength- would be the characters. There very well developed in the since that you can relate to them eye-to-eye. I think that Van Draanen uses the characters to actually form here plot. For instince, she uses Sammy Keyes in all of her books to basically form the series. In conclusion, I will say that Sammy Keyes writes "living" mysteries with great plot, various settings, and relating characters to write great mystery series for teenagers and young adults.
