Thomas Eaton writes the following about Where the Red Fern Grows :
This story is about a boy who wants two hound dogs. When he gets them he is the happiest boy in the Ozark Mountain Region. A year later there is a heart breaking end to the relationship between he and his dogs. I think this is a touching story and people who like stories about people overcoming obstacles will like this book. I recommend this book because it's a great story and it's a nice book. It is historical and realistic fiction combined. It takes place from 1900 to 1910.
