Kathrine writes the following about HOOT :

I love how the mystery starts on the very 1st pg and the exposition still remains. I think Carl Hiaasen is a wonderful writer. If this book is based on his experiance and he portrays the character Roy, he must be in a sort of gloomy state. Roy was a good character, the author did an awesome job of making him life-like. He gave him a sad, annoyed yet excited and determined personality and Roy stuck with it.
If u luv mysteries, adventure, thrills, or the environment I deeply recomend this book. If you only care about illustrations, dont. The only picture in there is an owl. a triange and 2 circles.I could draw that in pre-k
