In Deltora Quest the Lake of Tears, a 16 year old boy named Leif and a man named Barda are sent on a journey to reclaim the belt of Deltora from some of the most deadly places in the world after the Shadow Lord took over the land of Deltora and scattered the gems. On the way to the Lake of Tears they met Jasmine, a wild girl from the Forests of Silence. After slaying her son and daughter, the evil sorceress Thaegen is on the hunt for the comrades. Will they be able to battle Thaegen and the gardian monster, Soldeen and recover the gem from the Lake of Tears?
This book is very fresh, original, and exciting. It does extremely well to grab your attention and keep you "hooked". It's good for both youngsters and older kids as well, because it is mildly mature yet very easy to read. Though it lacks some detail, and the characters are rather flat, I recommend this book to everyone who wants an exciting read!
