Among the Hidden is about a boy named Luke Garner and he is an illegal third child. He is an illegal third child because where he lives the population police say that if you have more than two children they will run out of food. So when they start cutting down the trees around his house Luke has to hide inside.
Luke watches everyone leave in the morning and go to work or school. Luke soon sees that where already where two children live there is another child. Luke riskes his life and sneeks over their and investigates. Soon they both become best friends. Then something awful happens. I'm not going to tell you though. Read the book and find out.
