I really liked this book because it was surprising and interesting. It made me think aobut how the world would be if we made sure nothing bad happened to anyone ever. It was a "safe" community, but it helps the reader realize that we have to know the bad to appreciate the good. We don't appreciate how wonderful and beautiful and great the world is. The ending left me hanging a little, but the author gave great hints as to what happened to Jonas beyond the end of the story. This book would probably be good for 12 year olds and up. I thought it was great!
