This book was written during the 1930's from the eyes and words of a young black girl growing up on a farm in Mississippi with little possessions, but a lot of of love and caring. The book is based on the events of surviving painful loses and thankful gains, and everything in between. There are many hardships, but everything in the story makes everyone a little bit stronger, and a little wiser from very tough lesson learned.
Let The Circle Be Unbroken was a very good book. Mildred D. Taylor wrote it so every event made an impact on the characters in the story. It was very suspenseful and you never knew just how the problem would be solved or when or where the next problem would occur.
Besides being an excellent book, there were so many ways Taylor made everything relate to things that still happen today regardless of the very different time periods between today and the 1930's. This book really relates to anybody no matter what age you are.
I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages. It teaches a lot from the perspective of different eyes, from different opinions, and totally different lives than our very own.
