Let the Circle Be Unbroken is about a girl named Cassie that faces discrimination in a southern state during the 1930s. She learns many lessons as she travels through the dreaded and hard-working southern life. This realistic fiction novel is Mildred D. Taylor's outstanding sequel to Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry. I like her style of writing, because the dialouge, plot, and conflicts make the story come to life as you read it. This book is a great read-aloud, classroom, adult, or teenage reading. Even though it's a sequel, this page turner is the kind of book that allows you to read the series in any order. At first, I didn't want to read his book, but after a couple chapters, I couldn't put it down. I am now reading Road to Memphis, the sequel to Let the Circle Be Unbroken, and I predict that it will be as good as the last two.
