Alexa S. writes the following about the house of the scorpion :
The House of the Scorpion is my favorite book. It is a science fiction story about a clone, Matteo Alacrin who lives first in a house in the poppy fields with Celia who is like his mother, even though he doesn't have one. Then after he breaks out and gets injured for the first time in his life. He is taken by Emily and Maria ro the Big House where Rosa takes care of him untill she relizes he is a clone. Then they lock him in a room in the servent's quarters with chicken litter and bugs, old food bones and a dove feather for friends. Eventually El Patron finds out what they do to matt and he is released from his prision after 6 months. He is still treated badly by everyone except Celia, Maria, El Patron and Tam Lin. Then Matt is framed for killing Maria's dog and she is mad at him. She goes to school and comes back to learn the truth about who killed her dog. Matt has to run away from everyone to survive and he must enter Mexico and find Maria. And even though the people in Mexico don't know he is a clone, but they still treat him badly and most don't like him. Read this book to find out what happens.
