Melbob writes the following about The Last Book in the Universe :
Spaz, a young epileptic, lives in Billy Bizmo's latch of the Urb, a devastating land that is somewhat characteristic of a reverse utopia- void of all color, peace, and harmony. Spaz sets out on a journey across the latches to visit Bean, his foster sister, one last time before she dies.Ryter, an old gummy; and Little Face, a toddler; provide Spaz with company along the way. They meet up with a perfect proov, Lanaya, who provides some much needed help, including transportation. Spaz, Ryter, Little Face, and Lanaya set out to save Bean's life, but meet many larger challenges along the way, all leading up to one of Spaz's biggest decisions in life that will ultimately change everything as they know it - forever.
