Rebecca Gambell writes the following about The Princess Diaries :
'The Princess Diaries' by Meg Cabot. In 'The Princess Diaries' Mia finds out that she is a princess. So she has to choose if she wants to be a princess or let her grandma and her dad down. The four main characters in 'The Princess Diaries' are Mia, her mum, her dad and also her grandma. Mia is the main character, she is a teenager who is going to turn 16 in a couple of weeks and all she wants to do is to be invisible and that is all she is. Mia wants to blend in. I think Mia is what all girls want to be, a princess. I can relate to Mia at first because she has two best friends. Personally I liked the bit in the story when Mia first finds out that she is a princess because she doesn't want to own her own country some day. She acts as if she would rather jump off of a cliff than be a princess. This part in the book made me laugh because she was going insane. In 'The Princess Diaries' there are a couple of themes. These are love and family. I also think that there should have been more involvement in the family because most of the time she is just moaning that she does not want to be a princess. Overall I would recommend this book to anybody. This book has got love, the family in it and also people who are royal. I think that this book would be fun and a lovely book to read.
