Baj writes the following about The Berenstain Bears and The Truth :
This story is about being truthful. Once you lose that trust it's hard to gain it back. This story made me laugh because of the ridicules lies that they said. The theme of this story is about being truthful because you never know who might catch you. Part2: The two themes of (The Truth) are #1- being honest because you never know who might catch you and #2- Don't lose trust from people be the one who is trusted by everyone. These themes are important because if your honest, people can believe in you and then if you lose trust from people they don't talk to you. Brother and Sister were really bad liars, they could not come up with good lies. On pg. 17 it said: "It was a bird!" began brother. "Yes," added sister," a big purple bird with yellow feet!" Part3: My opinion of the illustrations was that whatever he described in the writing was also described in the drawings. I feel this way because he really described words by drawings. Part4: I would recommend this to toddlers and their teachers or mothers so they can read it to their children because they should start learning know to start being honest. I would also recommend them to read about sharing and cleaning their places. I chose the following three objects to represent my book and the themes: Object#1 a lamp. This represents or shows the big lie about how the lamp got broken, and also it was mama's favorite lamp. Object#2 a ball. This represents how the lamp got broken. Object#3 a bird. This represents or shows when the bears lied about the purple bird dropping and breaking the lamp.
