Step 2: My Book Review
Let?s face it when it comes to science fiction Canadian author Carol Matas has the edge. She has written The Second Clone, The Freak, Telling, Me, Myself And I?and more, which are all science fiction novels with young women as the main character. Carol Matas seems to be fascinated by the idea of cloning or twins, which is the theme of many of her books.
And, wonder of wonders Carol Matas has done it again in Cloning Miranda. The story is about a girl name Miranda. She?s about thirteen years old and she seems to be perfect. She has it all beauty, brains, talent, and perfect health, until she discovers that she has a disease because her eyes went all blurry at her dance practice. Then everything changes everything seems to be weird, she thinks her parents aren?t telling the truth to her about what?s happening because they promised her that she?ll be ok, that she won?t die. Everything she thought was true was a lie, her parents who she thought that were so reasonable, who never argued with her because there was no need, who stressed honesty over all else - were honest in every little detail and lied about the biggest thing, her life.
She found out that she was a clone, and she met her ?sister? who she is cloned from.
This is a very interesting story that made me ask myself lots of questions like: Did she had anymore family besides her parents? How did something like this happen?
Did she really want to have a sister? Did she make up with her parents after what happened? What happens to her sister? Hoes does she feel now that she knows that she is a clone? Is Cloning Miranda 2 going to answers these questions?
Be sure to look for is Cloning Miranda 2! If this book is anything like Cloning Miranda it will be fast paced, easy to read, interesting and different from other books I?ve read.
