Nicole M. writes the following about Sir Gawain and the Loathly Lady :

After a horrible hag saves King Arthurs life by answering a riddle, Sir Gawain agrees to marry her and thus releases her from an evil pit. King Arthur met a lady on the side of the road. She asked him to ask one of his knights to marry her, but he didn't want to because she was so hideous. They married and the hideous spell broke and she was beautiful again. What I liked about this story is that she turned beautiful again. What I didn't like about this story is that they treated her very poorly when she was hideous.
