Ellie writes the following about The Child Called It :
A Child called it, is the most amazing and inspiring story that i have ever read. It made me cry a lot, to think about all of those thing that David's mother did to him. I don't think that i can ever understand why his mother beat him up and abused him so badly, but even though she had mental issues she only beat one child and never touched her older boys. I think she belived that once David was born her marrage started to fall apart, so she blamed David for it.
When David's father was at home she never touched David but was very cold towards him, so his father always knew about the beatings and the abuse. David's father never tried to stop the abuse but instead he felt that he couldn't cope so he and David's mother split up. David felt that his father was his hero, so when he left David felt betrayed and hurt because he always belived that his father would take him away from his mother, but David's father never took him with him.
Even through out all the abuse that he was put through, he managed to get away from his mother and started on foster homes.
This is the most incredible, real life story that i have ever read. It was absolutly amazing how such a young boy could find way to outwit his mother, at such a young age he learned how to fend for himself.
