The book I chose is Crossing the Line. The book is about a boy named Jack that is 18 years old. He has troubles at home and he never met his father. He is very angry as well so he takes his anger out with his hockey team. He is one of the toughest players on his team. His hockey team the Bayview Sharks are only known for their tough players. The coach wants to change that about the team. So the coach decides to get a different trainer and the trainer just happens to be the figure skating coach. The boys don't think it's fair how they have to learn form a figure skater that is a girl. The coach tells them that it will help them with their teqnique. But anyhow Jack came home one day and there was a message on the answering machine telling his mother to call the real estate agent. Jack was furious he was thinking that his mother was going to sell that house on him. He didn't want to move. Then he had found a note to him on the fridge from his mother saying that she will be home late. Jack thought what has gotten into his mother she never comes home late. He waited up for his mom but she didn't get home to early so he went to bed. The next day he finally had the nerve to ask this girl that he had like for a long time out. She had never liked him because she thought he was to tough but she finally got to know him because Jack had to give her a tour of Bayview because she is a new student. Jack got home that day and his mom wasn't home. He finally decided to go into his moms closet and look. He found a case that had a bunch newspapers and bills in it. The he came across pictures and police reports. The pictures were of a young boys bruised arm. He realized that the arm was Jacks. The police reports were about Jack being abused. Jack was very upset and he found the reason that his father was never there for him was because his father had abused Jack when he was a kid. Jack found where his father lived a decided to find his dad. He set out a found his dad's house. He knocked at the door and his father answered his dad broke into tears. Jack went in the house and started yelling at his dad. He asked his dad why he never came around. His dad explained that he never came around because Jacks mother told his dad never to come around again and threatened to call the cops on him if he did. That?s when the book pretty much ended.
