The book I have chosen to do is Bury Me Deep. The author of the book is Christopher Pike. The story begins with Jean on her way to Hawaii for a week. Her friends Mandy and Michele are already there waiting on the beach for her. Jean couldn't go earlier because she had to repeat a test at school. After she took the test she was off to Hawaii. When she was on the plane she was sitting beside a boy named Mike. But she didn't know anything about Mike, like where he is from or where he lives and what he does. Jean fell asleep and when she woke up, Mike starts to choke and then he?s on the ground choking, then dies. She yells for help and tells everyone to help or get help but no one is listening and they all go back to what they were doing and just ignore her. The people on the plane all act like nothing happened. So the flight attendant came over to were he fell and died on the ground and puts him in a green body bag and takes him to the front of the plane. Jean is scared and doesn't have any idea what had just happened to Mike. One moment she was talking to him and the next moment he?s dead and in a body bag. The plane finally landed. Jean was so happy when the plane landed she wanted to get off so much that she couldn't wait. She didn?t want to think about Mike anymore. But when she was just getting off the plane the flight attendant ask her how her flight was. Jean looks at her and thinks how could she say that since she saw what had happened. The flight attendant keeps talking and says. Did you know Mike? Jean looks confused, so she ran to the airport.
Jean goes into the airport and finds her friends Mandy and Michele waiting for her out side with this totally nice car. They go back to the hotel and they talk to Jean about what has been happening and the people they have been meeting. Jean meets John one of the scuba divers and becomes friends with him right away. The three girls and the two guys go out every night and have tons of fun. One night they decided to go scuba diving in the ocean. Jean went really deep and found something down in the ocean. She kept swimming and swimming until she found something she didn?t want to find. It was Mike?s body! She thought but how. Mike died on the plane and also he was taken away in the body bag. She swam back to shore and told John. John didn?t believe her. They all went back to the hotel to have a nice shower. Jean told Mandy and Michele. Jean knew they didn?t believe her but she had to tell them anyways. Michele tells Jean something she didn?t want to hear. Michele said that the guys had lost their other partner in a scuba accident. Jean knew right away that it was mike. Jean left the hotel and said she will be back later. She went to the beach and saw some one putting scuba equipment on. She went closer and she saw who it was. It was John! She followed him down into the water. She watched what he did. She turned around when she knew that he would see her if she didn?t move quickly so she went the opposite way. She watched him swim to the shore. The he left in the car. She wanted to know what he was doing and why he didn?t tell her about Mike. But it was to late. In the morning she went to the cemetery and looked for Mikes grave. And she found it! She couldn?t believe it. She heard people running towards her. Jean ask what was the matter and they said that one of hers friends committed suicide in the hotel and is dead! Jean drove all the way back to the hotel and knew who was dead, it was Mandy. She asks what happened and they said that they found her lying here around noon and she?s been dead for along time. Jean left and went right to John. She told him the story. But he wasn?t acting the way he was the whole week. She walked out of the house, he started to follow her and she said leave me alone I don?t even know who you are anymore. She looked back and it looked like he wasn?t following anymore. So she went to the hotel to call Mandy?s parents, and talk to them and to tell them that there only daughter is now dead. She told Mandy?s parents that Mandy would never commit suicide and she doesn?t know what had happened, because she had left the night before to go to the beach. But Jean knew that wasn't true because she was following John. She said that she would send the body on a plane down to L.A where Jean and her friends live. After she called Mandy?s parents she went looking for Dave. Michele?s boyfriend. They talked for along time then they both went to the beach and saw John going into the water again. They both look at each other and said what do you think he is doing. They then followed him to the beach and into the water. Jean and Dave saw John go to the spot where Jean found Mikes body. Jean saw John go into the cave in the water and come back out with something in his hand when he was swimming, but they didn?t know what it was for sure. They followed him to shore. He went on to the boat they had rented for the week. There was stairs on the side of the boat. So Jean and Dave climbed on it and waited till John came by. Dave hit him and took him down stairs in the boat. They look for what they thought he must of brought from the water, But they realize it had probably been down stairs where they put John. But when they went back down stairs John wasn?t there. So they went looking for him. Jean got hit on the head and collapsed. She woke up and she was tied around a chair and John was yelling at her and Dave. What she hadn't noticed that Michele was with them but she wasn't tied up so that meant she was on Johns side. She wanted to yell at Michele but it wasn't the time to. Seeing the fact they might die. She then noticed that John was the one who killed Mike and that was why she had been having bad dreams about John and Mike. Every time she was near John she would get a weird feeling and think of what happened to Mike. Jean closed her eyes and saw something. She saw Mike, John, Dave in the water scuba diving and then she sees someone strangling Mike. Right away she new it was John. After a lot of yelling the Police finally found the boat. Jean was surprise because she didn?t know who called them. They rescue Dave and Jean. John was sent to prison. Dave moved to L.A and is now going out with Jean. Michele, well they don?t very often talk to her any more. Jean and Dave always go to Mandy's and to her parents.
"There was an ambulance parked outside the front of the hotel. Fear pierced Jean when she saw it. She didn't bother putting her rental car in the lot. She parked in font and tossed the keys to the valet. She hurried over to the pool are where a group of people were gathered. A moment later she saw that the police had cordoned off the area with yellow official tape. "what happened?" she asked a potbellied man who carried a tropical smoothie in his right hand. " some girl jumped or fell out of her hotel room" Jean was horrified " is she dead?" " she splattered on the solid concrete. I'm sure she's dead."
" Jean nodded. "what color was her hair?" she whispered. "The girl had short brown hair with bangs. Do you know her?" Jean choked on the information. Tears welled in her eyes and she had to close them. But her tears didn?t' burn-- they were as cold as her world, where young people she cared about could die in a moment. "She was my best friend." she wept. "Her name was Mandy Bart" "Do you know why she'd jump?" the officer asked. Jean opened her eyes. She shook her head. "Mandy would never have jumped. She must have been murdered"
