Fastback Beach was a very interesting novel to for me to read. One of the main characters, Miles,was accused of stealing a car. He is punished with hundred hours of community service. Over those hundred hours he learns a lot about hot rods and becomes really good friends with Mr. Barnier who has the old hot rod. Miles and Mr. Bernier work on it together every day and become good friends. ?Mr. Bernier waits in silence as I, like he?s just done, lose myself in memories.?The author shows us the friendship when they discuss about each other?s memories of hot rods.
