This is an amazing book for youngters. It teachers about life as well as death, sorrow, pain, loneliness, love, and friendship. The characters are realistic and easy to connect to. The first time I read this book(2 years ago) I new I needed to have it for my students to read. We have been reading this book in my class for the last two years and the students love it. They can relate to the theme and the different topics found in htis book.
Cynthia Ryland did a magnificent job with this book.
