Scara writes the following about The Secret Garden :
The Secret Garden
By: Frances Hodgson Burnett

This book called The Secret Garden was authored by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Frances was born in 1849 and she died in 1924. She wrote over forty books and has written several plays. When she wrote this book it in chapters and so if you like chapter books you can read this. This fiction book will pull you into it, so don?t just read the back cover and put it back on the self. This book has an exciting plot of a lonely little girl named Mary that is shipped off to her uncle?s house because both of her parents died of a disease. When she gets there she meets a bunch of new people like Martha, her maid, Dickon, Martha?s brother, and Colin, the boy who is sick and cannot walk. Mary finds the secret garden that has been locked up for ten years and shows Dickon and Colin.

My personal feelings about this book were that I would no recommend to all 7th graders. Some of the words and sayings like ?Where has tha? been, tha? cheeky little beggar?? were hard to understand, but once you get further into the book you can understand it better.
My rating for this book would be a five, right in the middle because it was hard to understand, but yet it pulled you into the story has it went along so you could understand it better.
