Have you ever thought about standing behind a person with a gun, and they were about to shoot somebody? What if the somebody was famous? What would you do? In Meg Cabot's science fictional book called "All American Girl," she was standing behind a person with a gun who was about to shoot the president of the United States. What will she do? Well, first I'm going to start from the beginning.
When she finds out that she has to take art lessons, she wasn't happy. Once she got to her lesson, she drew what she was suppose to, and then the teacher yells at her for not drawing what she sees. She got really angry with her, and she didn't want to go there again.
The next time she had an art lesson, she decided not to go. Instead she just wandered around town. Well when it was time to go she was waiting in front of the donut shop to cross the street. Sirens started going off telling people that the president was coming. He went into the donut shop, and when he came out the guy in front of her had a gun and was going to shoot the president.
What would you do? She decided to tackle the guy, and she saved the president's life. Sinve she did that, everybody knew, and the president decided to make her teen ambassdor of the United States. For saving a guy's life, her life became busy with things to do at the White House.
It may be hard for a girl to save the president's life, and then be famous. For her, she gets stressed out, and she doesn't like the fact that news reporters are where ever she is. Now she's an All American Girl.
