Cory writes the following about The Child Called It :
When you were little did you ever think you were not going to eat all week? Well the little boy in Dave Pelzer's book, A Child Called It, had to go through this and his moms other abuse.
The boy in A Child Called It was named David. His mom did a lot of other awful things to hurt him really bad. His mom made him play theses games she made up. One of theses games she made him play was to lock him in that bathroom with a bucket of bleach and ammonia, and the made a really bad gas that would mea him black out and pass out. But he was smart, and figured out how to beat some of her games.
The boy was a smart boy. He had figured out ways to beat her games. When she put him in a bathtub with freezing cold water in it he would take his head out so his head would not get as wet and cold. he used to get by a clock when he was getting beat, so he could tell when his father and brothers were getting home because she would not as beat him as bad when they were home. He was getting smarter every time he got beat up.
One of the other things that she did to him is tell him he had to get his chores done in a certain amount of time or she was going to kill him. One time she threw the knife at him and it stabbed him in the stomach. After she did that she was all nice to him so he would not tell enemy one what happen but she wouldn?t take him to the hospital.
The kid has been through a lot in his lifetime. Just to think of why his mother was like this? One other things that I just wanted to so that I think is really wrong that his dad was watching the whole time.
