Jacob J writes the following about A Long Way From Chicago :
I read A Long Way From Chicago. I think that you should read it. It is a very good book. The main characters are Grandma Dwodel, Mary Alice, and Joey. It is very good and funny. For instance, in one chapter, a zombie comes to her house and Grandma runs and gets a shotgun and runs back and yells, "You've had your time. You don't get no more." And then, she shoots it. But it was only the cat that was moving the veil. I think that it is very funny, but that is just me. You should read it too. It is very funny. You will be laughing for a long time.

Grandma and the kids even see the sheriff in his underwear, so rememeber, read this book! I'm not going to tell what happens in all the chapters, but in one chapter, two old men (one's 92, the other is 102, I think) get into a fight. One served in the Civil Way and the other in the Mexican War. Joey takes driving lessons and Grandma cheats in a pie contest. Well, kind of cheats, but helps the other guy. When they enter the tent, she switches names on the pies and the other guy wins. Later, Joey who saw Grandma switch the cards, said to Grandma, "In the tent, I thought I saw you switch the cards," and Grandma just says, "I did." The she gets Joey a twenty five cent ride in an airplane. Twenty five cents was a lot back them, but the driver said anyone who wins a blue ribbon gets a free ride and Grandma had a blue ribbon on her hat and Joey sees the ribbon is gone! Then one dark night, Joey sees the Phantom break man. I won't tell you what happens, you'llh ave to read it yourself and I hope you do!!!

I love the book and if you love video games, jumping on the trampoline, having water fights, and hate doing homework, you too will love this book, or if you're just bored, you'll like it. Trust me!
