Erin writes the following about Hatchet :
I read this book in school as one of the reading units. I thought this book was awesome. Everything is descriptive and you get pulled into the book and do not wanna stop reading. This book is about a 13 year old boy named Brian who was going to his dads house after his parents just got divorced. On the way there the pilot had a heart attack and died. This forced Brian to have to steer the plane by himself. He did ok until he ran out of gas and had to land the plane, (or crash the plane). He landed in the middle of the Canadian Wilderness all by himself with nothing but a hatchet his mother had given him. He now has to survive in the wilderness with many wild animals around him and no place to live. Though out the book he learns how to survive in the Canadian Wilderness. This is a great adventure book. I rate it 10 out of 10. It is a good book for anyone who likes adventure and survival books. I don't reccomend it to anyone under about 8 years old. Someone under than 8 may not understand it very well.
