Steffanie writes the following about Holes :
This book is almost like a mystery. You want to keep reading it. It doesn't seem like it makes much sense until the end when it all comes together. It is about Stanley Yelnets who has to choose to go to either jail or camp for stealing a pair of famous peoples shoes that he said he did not steal. Of course he picks camp. There each kid has to dig one hole that is 4 ft. wide and 4 ft. deep each day. He has a very hard time getting through life but finally he does something that changes everyones life, including his own.
