Kayla writes the following about The Outsiders :
The Outsiders is a very exciting story. It is about a couple of gangs who get into a conflict and a whole bunch of stupid things begin to happen. Some of the main characters are Ponyboy, a 14-year-old boy who enjoys sunsets and books. Johnny is a 16-year-old boy who gets beat up by his parents and is the little brother in the gang, Greasers. Sodapop is Ponyboy?s older brother who dropped out of school because he thinks he is dumb. There is also Darry who is Sodapop?s and Ponyboy?s legal guardian and brother. He takes care of them because their parents are dead. Last, but not least, there is Dally who is a tough guy who got put into jail at the age of ten. He can also be a great guy like when he helps Ponyboy and Johnny when they get in a tight jam. These guys are all really close friends and when one person gets in trouble another will come running to help them. One thing I would change about The Outsiders is the ending. I believe if maybe it weren?t so violent more people would be aloud to read it. I fell that everyone should read this book at least once in his or her lives. It tells a lot about what can happen and what does happen in a gang. The Outsiders is not just a great book it is also a great learning experience for people who have no understandings for gangs.
