In which Robin Brown goes to Oz from a merry-go-round in the USA and the merry-go-round horse he is riding comes to life. Named Merry (Go being the middle name, Round being the last, they go on exciting adventures. Meanwhile, Prince Gules, the Flittermouse, Fred the Horse and a Unicorn have some amazing adventures to find some magic rings to restore the Kingdom of Halidom. But it is Easter in the Emerald City and Queen Ozma sends Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion along to get some Easter-eggs from the Easter Bunny!
MERRY-GO-ROUND IN OZ was published in 1963, and it is the last official Oz book. It was published almost 12 years after THE HIDDEN VALLEY OF OZ. It all started when Eloise McGraw was reading THE SCALAWAGONS OF OZ by John R. Niell, and she thought, "This isn't a proper Oz book!" So decided to write her own one. Dick Martin's cartoonish illustrations are wonderful. She also wrote THE FORBIDDEN FOUNTAIN OF OZ, which is not an official Oz book.
