Stephanie writes the following about Holes :

I think holes is a fantastic book! It is sad, happy, and funny.
They wrote the book very well. They made one book with three stories in it. The main story was the story about the present and the other was about the past. Stanley is the main character in the story. Most of the stories about the boys digging holes in the desert!

The camp that the bad boys had to go to was called Camp Green Lake. The funny thing was that there was no lake! They had to dig one hole every day. After they dig the hole they get one four minute shower. The only kind of water they had was cold! If they found anything interesting they would get the rest of the day off. Their counsler's name was Mr.Pedinski he's pretty nice. He's just not nice to Zero.

Zero is a boy that got caught stealing a pair of shoes from the homless shelter. He was a homless boy.Zero's mother left him one day at the park and she never came back. He is also another main character in the book. He is the fastest digger in the camp. Zero said he liked to dig holes. He is a very quiet person he seems mad or sad all the time.

Stanley didnt steal the shoes and he had to go. He made friends with every one in his tent except for zig zag. Zig zag and stanley got into a fight. Zero helped stanley get Zig zag off off him. Stanley and Zero became really close friends. After they became friends Stanley taught Zero how to read. Since Stanley was so tired after digging his hole Zero helped him. After zero ran away Stanley stole the truck to go find him. Stanley ran into a hole and didn't get very far. After that he ran the rest of the way.

I thought it was a great book! I would read it again. You should read it.Once you start you wont be able to stop. DOnt read the book and in the middle watch the movie it might confuse you. The book and movies a little bit different. I thaught the book waas better.
