i thought this novel was a very interesting read. It showed the anguish of the main character Francis. He wants to die after his first love Nicole is raped by his childhood hero. it is a very emotional book that touches on many sensitive issues. The hate in the book and need for revenge is very powerful although you do get the impression that not all the characters especially Larry are ever what they seem. i really enjoyed this book as it touches on a number important subjects such as rape, war and religion.
