Caitlin writes the following about Across Five Aprils :
I had to read this book for school and I thought it would be really boring but instead it kept me thinking and made me understand how people felt and what they thought about the civil war. The main character, Jethro, has the responsibilitie, Along with his only sister left, to take care of the family farm because all his brothers and sisters have either died or gone to war. The farn isn't the only thing he has to worry about, this book reveals how young adults felt about the war and what they had to worry about. A truly touching book that anyone looking for a book that includes loyalty, love, courage, and empathy will love to read.
