camila.* writes the following about Wizard of Earthsea :
In the island of Gont, famous for wizards? lives a boy named Ged. His mother died when he was little. He grew up being an awkward and impulsive boy. He lived with his father and his aunt who is the village witch and she teaches him some minor spells. Ogion, a wizard, amazed by his skills took Ged to teach him more. One day Ged decides that he wants to go to Wizard School of Roke. There, he meets Jasper (his arrival) and Vetch (his friend). Jasper challenges Ged to duel in magic and Ged releases an evil shadow that almost kills him. He was living in fear because he knew that the shadow will come back for him to kill him. Later on, he graduate from Roke and it?s hired by the residents of Pendor to protect them from a dragon that has menaced them for years. While he lives there he is followed and tormented by the shadow. Then he finally realizes that he must go after the shadow instead of trying to hide from it. But in order to do this he first has to go and defeat the dragon instead of waiting for him to come. After doing this and defeating the dragon he goes in a search for the shadow. Then Ged confronts the shadow and defeats it.
