Kenny Scharlatt writes the following about A Child Called 'It' :
This Book is not a book you want to read when you are not in the best mood, simply because of the fact that this man, David Pelzer, is lucky to be alive. The abusive treatment that he endures from his family, mostly his mom, would cause most, IF NOT ALL, of the average person to be killed. If you want to cry and be shocked, READ THIS BOOK. I personally am not a strong reader, and I read this book for a class in high school. The book was owned by the school, but it was so heart wrenching, that I had to have a copy of my own. Since then, I have bought all 5 of Dave's books. This man, in my mind, is THE STRONGEST person EVER

Overall, on a scale of 10, I give this book a 100.
