Just a middle school girl writes the following about The Giver :

The book was amazing! The intensity on each page grabs you and brings you with Jonas from being an ordinary child that doesn't think about why the community does what it does, to an intelligent boy with bravery courage and love. I recommend this book to everyone. I think anyone and everyone can love this book if they open their hearts to it. It shows that life isn't as bad as many people make it out to be. No matter how bad it gets, think about those who have it worse. Jonas shows you don't have to have a perfect life, to have a perfect ending. Sometimes you have to be like Jonas and work hard.
